The scagliola table top depicts the arms of the Gourdon and Foucaud d’Alzon noble families, a probable reference to the marriage of Jean-Louis de Lostanges, Marquis de Gourdon (d. 1755) and Marie-Pulcherie-Anastasie de Foucauld d’Alzon. The couple lived at the Château de Beduer, Querci, in Southwestern France.
This table is in good condition, the top with marks and scratches consistent with age and use, and chipping along the edges of the scagliola. There are minor losses to the carved shell applied to the frieze and traces of wax and minor repairs to the stretcher. The finial to the stretcher with a repaired breakage; feet replaced.
