Description

  • Parcel-gilt, walnut, poplar
each with rectangular curved padded back with carved tablet crestrail and seat covered in gold and white silk, on turned tapering leaf carved front legs and sabre rear legs, repainted

Condition

This elegant set of chairs is in good conserved condition. The decoration has been refreshed. There are minor marks, scratches and losses consistent with age and use. One chair with an incipient crack to the left juncture between the back frame and the seat that is in need of attention. A second chair also with an incipient crack to the left juncture in need of some attention. All chairs with minor traces of old woodworm which appears to be no longer active. Light staining and wear to the later upholstery.
