Catalogue Note
In 1969, François Arnal, Serge Benbouche and Olivier Boissière founded Atelier A.
Their act of faith: the necessary insertion of art in consumer society.
Arnal, Arman, Adzak, Cesar, Annette Messager and Jean-Michel Sanejouand are invited to create furniture and objects between Design and Art.
These creations will notably appeal the decorator Henri Samuel.
The adventure of Atelier A is emblematic of its time, with a very small production, it is not surprising that it did not go as planned ; it will end in 1975.
Less than 10 copies of the Formule 1 lounge chair were produced.
