Description

  • Mahogany, brass and pine
  • 171cm. high, 244cm. wide, 58cm. deep; 5ft. 7½in., 8ft., 1ft. 11in.
the long cupboards to either side with arched panelled doors and fitted with a brass hanging rail, the central section with two small drawers and four graduated long drawers, back of one with 'Long Passage' in pencil

Probably William Spencer Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire (1790-1858)

Condition

Lovely quality and attractively figured veneers. Re-glued veneer on section above one lower drawer. Loss to moulding on right base of pilaster. Fracture to one cornice moulding on right return of upright. Surface scratches and marks to top. Linen linings to long cupboards stained and discoloured.
