Description

  • Mahogany, cedar, oak, ebony and brass
  • 166cm. high, 124cm., wide, 52cm. deep; 5ft. 5½in., 4ft. 1in., 1ft. 8½in.
the panelled doors opening to reveal two pull-out trays, the base with two short and two long drawers, the reverse with a paper label printed 'Devonshire House, 1920' and a further distressed paper label with 'Top / Duchess Bed.' [room] in manuscript

Condition

A well made piece of furniture of some quality. The polished top formerly with a three quarter gallery. Now lacking. Chips and old marks and scratches as to be expected. The brass key hole lining lacking on one lock. The interior good although possibly with a further pull out tray lacking. Scuffs to feet. Possibly re-polished at the end of the 19th century. Attractively figured mahogany and of pleasing proportions.
