Condition
The canvas is lined. Some areas of craquelure in the sky upper left and near centre of lower edge below the man's front foot. The surface appears slightly dirty otherwise the work appears in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque varnish and some scattered flecks of retouching across the surface.
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
