supported on recumbent lions, the pedestal bases with claw feet with a crackle glaze, black marks and purple Chatsworth marktogether with another pair, glazed porcelain, Chatsworth mark, 54cm., 21¼in. and 54.5cm., 21½in. high

Condition

One of the spire finials on one of the creamware vases has repaired shallow chips. Otherwise in overall good condition.

Catalogue Note

The design of these vases, which were specially produced in limited numbers for the Chatsworth Estate Shops, was inspired by the important late 17th century Delft flower vases on view in the State Rooms at Chatsworth.
