  • plywood box: 9.5cm. high, 26cm. wide, 21cm. deep; 3¾in., 10¼in., 8¼in.
the hinged lid branded in ink 'Andover / Hants 29th May 29' also inscribed 'Egg', the divided interior with two resin eggs, each displaying the yoke together with a modern cardboard egg carton containing half a dozen stained alabaster eggs by Ducceschi, Italy, modern

Provenance

The wood box a gift to Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire (1920-2014) from Andrew Parker Bowles.
The resin eggs a gift to the Duchess from Mrs Jayne Wrightsman, New York.

Condition

Plywood box, tired and dirty but very evocative and generally good considering age and use. Cardboard box good. Alabaster Eggs generally good. Resin eggs a bit dirty but great fun. Remanents of straw and leaves to interior.
