Provenance
Commissioned from Royal Crown Derby by Andrew, 11th Duke of Devonshire (1920-2004). The Duke and Duchess held a tea party at Chatsworth in April 1991 to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. All the other couples in Derbyshire who shared this anniversary year were invited and received a plate from the commission as a gift. The Duchess used this set at the Old Vicarage, Edensor.
