The panel is sound. There are some minor paint losses (visible in the catalogue illustration) to the 'e' of the signature, to the sky below the right hand wing of the yellow bird and to the right of the grey bird. Under UV light, there are traces of inpainting in areas around the signature, in the sky, at the upper right and left, in the background on the left side, in the blue bird form and a few cosmetic touches in other areas. There are also traces of inpainting to the wooden mount which was made by the artist. This work is in good and stable condition. Images of the impainting under UV light are available from the department.
