Condition

The work is composed of two canvases of the same size held in a floater frame. Original canvases. There are frame abrasions with associated paint loss along all edges. Both canvases are slightly buckling, notably along the right edge of the top canvas. There are areas of craquelure, especially to the impasto. Some of the cracks are raised and incurred paint loss, notably along the top edge of the top canvas, at the centre of the bottom edge of the top canvas and the adjacent edge of the second canvas. There is a layer of surface dirt and sports of dirt in places. Held in a gold painted floater frame. Unexamined out of frame.
