Condition

Original canvas on its original stretcher. There are minor abrasions to all four edges. There are raised cracks to the centre of the smaller person's back which appear stable at present. There is a further crack to the paint surface to the ring finger. There are scattered flecks of paint loss. There are traces of ink from pen in the lower left. There is a light layer of surface dirt and spots of dirt in places. Inspection under UV light does not reveal any apparent signs of retouching. Held in a simple wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
