Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There are various apparent scratches, brown accretions, fingerprints and soiling that are in the original images, and not on the surface of these reprinted photographs. Both photographs are unframed. i) This photograph, mounted on aluminum, has two minute nicks and losses to the left edge located 2 ¾ - 2 7/8" from the upper left corner, and 1" from the bottom left corner. In the upper right corner, there are a few light horizontal scratches in the white background at upper left. What appear to be minute vestiges of the reverse white photo paper are evident in the upper right corner and lower right edge, 4 ¾" from the lower right corner. ii) This photograph, mounted on forex, has a few areas of minor nicks and losses along the edges, primarily 4 ¼ - 5 ½" from the upper right corner and extending 1/2" down from the corner, and along the bottom edge 8 ½" in from the right corner. There are also: a small smudged accretion, 10 – 10 ½" from the top and ¼ - ¾" from the left edge; two possible light scuffs, 4 – 5" from the upper right corner; a ½" horizontal scratch 2" from the top and 10 ½ - 11" from the right.
