Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of stable craquelure concentrated in a few areas of the canvas, most notably where there appears to be layered media, which is inherent to the artist's working method. There is evidence of light handling and wear along the edges and sides of the canvas, which is only visible upon close inspection. Under ultraviolet light inspection there is no evidence of restoration. Unframed.

Catalogue Note

"I never really started telling (jokes), I started telling them over. Back in 1985, in Venice, California, I was drawing my favorite cartoons in pencil on paper. After this I dropped the illustration or image part of the cartoon and concentrated on the punch line." Richard Prince
