Condition

Colour: The colous in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the background tends more towards a softer cream. Condition: This work is in good condition. The canvas is laid down on masonite. There is evidence of wear with associated small losses to all four edges. There are horizontal cracks to the composition, which are likely to be original to the execution process and are in keeping with the artist's choice of medium. Some of these have associated specks of loss. Close inspection reveals some areas of irregular paint application to the cream background. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.

Catalogue Note

“Above all, I would like the viewer to be able to look and to listen to these paintings the same way as one listens to a musical score. And may they release the silence which inhabits them...”
