These chairs are in reasonable condition. There are hairline construction cracks throughout, and the paint is rubbed with losses in places, exposing the wood underneath and creating a variation in patina. Some chairs redecorated in places. One chair with a broken and repaired arm and back. One chair with later securing batons to the underside. One chair with repaired fracture to. One with crack to front rail. One with fracture to top upright. Chips to carved and raised detail. Evidence of old worm. The Aubusson upholstery dating from around 1780 with tears and repaired and later elements. It is in part discoloured and distressed, most notably on the armrests. A highly decorative set.
