the sliding top opening to reveal a chess board and tric-trac board, with one frieze drawer and a corresponding dummy drawer replete with a set of later carved Staunton pattern chess pieces in ebony and sandalwood

Condition

Good quality piece in overall good conserved condition and ready to place/use. The surface has been repolished and there are areas of reveneering. The sliding top is bowed slightly but this doesn't impede its action. The tooled leather insets apparently original, though the trick-trac surface has been re-lined.
