Condition
The canvas is lined, the paint surface is relatively clean, and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals spot retouching, most notably around the figure of Hagar, in the foliage above the angel and in the sky, right. There are more concentrated areas of retouching in the margins of the upper right corner, around the tree trunk, upper left, and in the landscape, centre right. In overall good condition.
