Catalogue Note

The quality and scale of the present Regency inspired wine cooler suggests it is the output of a notable 19th century Irish maker. Michael Butler of Dublin was the city's leading maker and retailer of eighteenth-century revivalist furniture, as well as a restorer of period originals, and is a likely candidate for the authorship of this piece.
