comprising two vases of quatrefoil section, one decorated with birds and flowers, the other of a mythical beast on one side and a dragon on the other, both with conforming metal covers; a waisted baluster vase also of quatrefoil section, flanked by two mythical beast head handles suspending loose metal rings, mounted with a gilt-metal insert to the rim and foot
Condition
It is not possible to inspect the porcelain beneath its mounts. The single vase has a broken neck which is now restored. There is a body crack at the shoulder with associated restoration. The original rings on the animal masks have been replaced with metal.
One of the pair has the mouth ground down with associated chips. Both with later replaced metal covers.
There are general glaze firing imperfection, enamel wear and surface scratchings.
