Condition

A highly decorative pair in a pleasingly distressed condition with typical wear, discoloration and losses to the reverse painted glass - particularly to the silvering - consistent with age and use. They do not appear to be cut from a larger panel - although due to fixing it is impossible to see the edges of each glass plate. The original giltwood frames with movement to the joints and cracks at these points, chips and losses, also consistent with age and use. Both paintings are of very fine quality.
