Description

  • 59cm. high, 67cm. wide, 48cm. deep; 1ft. 11¼in., 2ft. 2½in., 1ft. 6¾in.
with a later lead liner, on later metal castors

Condition

Overall in good conserved condition. Base board possibly later. There is a repaired split along one of the sides and a fillet has been inserted to secure the break and the brass handle is now fixed to a later patch. There are small sings of movement to the joints. With some old marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.

Catalogue Note

The distinctive fluted frieze of the present lot is a recurrent Chippendale motif which features on numerous pieces of furniture attributed to the renowned cabinet-maker.
