Description

  • brass
  • the taperstick 11.4cm. high, 4½in.; the wax-jack 12.5cm. high; 5in.
together with a George III brass wax-jack (2)

Condition

The taperstick is attractive. There is wear and rubbing to raised detail from polishing, but this gives the piece a nice 'aged' feel. It is very slightly mis-shapen and there are typical old marks and scratches. Edges of base with very slight prangs, these do not detract and it is of steady stance. The wax-jack is generally in good order. The central stem is slightly loose.
