The panel is uncradled, but has an old vertical split running approx. three quarters' of the way down the centre of the panel, and there is old adhesive on the reverse of the panel. The paint surface is dirty and the varnish is slightly discoloured. There are a number of vertical lines running through the paint surface from the lower margin, especially lower right (visible in the catalogue illustration). Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some retouching to reduce their appearance, as well as scattered spot retouching in the sky and water, and some slightly larger areas in the sky, upper right, and trees, right, the largest of which measures no more than approx. 2 by 3 cm. In overall fair condition.
