Description
- Pair of door handles with harpies
- steel, on modern perspex mounts
- South German, early 17th century
Condition
Overall the condition of the metal is good, with wear and minor dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is some oxidation to the metal, in particular to the handles, and very minor corrosion. There are nicks and dents throughout. There appear to remnants of bluing, in particular to the decoration of one of the handles. There are a few, probably original, stable fissures to the engraved metal. The handles are glued to the perspex mounts, and some glue residue is visible.
The perspex mounts are in good condition with some wear.
