Description
- gilt black lacquer
each of rectangular form with canted corners and waisted sides, the black ground densely decorated in gilt with figures amongst elaborate pavilions amidst a riverside landscape with trees and rocks, bordered by a stylised foliate border
Condition
All four panels with a vertical split around the middle of the panel. There are minor chips to the extremities of the lacquer. General surface wear with some loss to the gilding. Other minor drying cracks as consistent with age.
