Condition

Overall the condition of the marble is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age, including dirt in the crevices of the hair. The object is composed of two sections (tondo and base), and a joint is visible. There are a few minor chips and abrasions around the edges, notably to the bottom edge. There are a few small filled inclusions, including to the top of the forehead and the neck and to the tip of the nose. There is a reattachment or insert to the bow.
