Description

  • 34.3cm., 13 1/2 in. diameter, 18.4cm., 7 1/2 in. high
circular bellied form, the double-skinned body embossed in high relief with a rampant dragon, with long tendrils issuing from its nose, among rolling waves, raised on a flaring collet foot, underside stamped with character marks only

Condition

Signs of small splits and repairs (predominantly in construction) to seam at rim. Extensive signs of repairs (some lead solder) to the high-points of the body although again probably much in construction when these 'running' repairs were made by the silversmith. Various small holes and dents, Detail is crisp and otherwise good for a piece of this type.
