- beech, painted wood
each with a cartouche shaped padded back with downscrolled padded arms and serpentine bowed padded seat on cabriole legs terminating in scrolled feet, the frame carved with flowers and leaves; painting distressed
Condition
Joints sound and sturdy. Old marks, chips scratches and losses to painting with construction cracks at joints. One armchair has a break where it joins the back and the rear rail on the back of the same chair has suffered damage in the past and also has one repaired broken leg. The seats retain what appears to be their original webbing. Another armchair has damage to the rear-rail on the back. Chips to some of the carved decoration. In need of some attention.

Received master in 1747. The father stamped with one L proceeded with his initials I.P. and the son who had the same initials and was an ébéniste signed 'J.P. Letellier'.
