Catalogue Note

A table of very similar form with the same inset leather top and gadrooned edge appears in Gillows estimate sketch book of 1827. The bold carving to the legs and feet were most likely undertaken by their master carver Rigby. Susan E Stuart, Gillows of Lancaster and London, 1730 - 1840, Woodbridge, 2008, vol. 1, p. 292, pl. 311.
