with a fossilised marble top above a drawer and fitted secrétaire compartments, with three drawers below on turned feet
Condition
A fine provincial secrétaire in reasonable condition. The marble top in good condition. The construction has been achieved relatively crudely throughout, as to be expected with provincial furniture, and as such the drawers to the secrétaire and to the front are not flush. The lock to the forefront has been moved or replaced and there are signs of the reconstruction. There are signs of old worm which appears to be no longer active and some movement along the lines of construction. The right return has some discolouration and filled in cracks. The locks have movement although the key still works for the secrétaire.
