Carrara marble and gilt bronze, signed A. Gory Paris, with foundry mark, on an integral Patricia green marble base, raised on a revolving gilt-bronze mounted Corinthian rouge de Vitrolles and Patricia green marble pedestal.

Condition
Bust - overall good condition and presentation. Some light soiling to marble but no chips or restoration. Bronze with areas of tarnish and oxidation consistent with age and atmospheric conditions. Socle - numerous minute chips to edges, one corner restored with infill, plate at bottom detached. Pedestal - overall good condition and presentation, professional repairs to edges of top, with infill, bronze with tarnish and minor pits consistent with age and atmospheric conditions, a few minor chips to base.

Gory altered his name from Fortunato Gori when he moved from Florence to Paris at the turn of the last century. He is recorded exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1902, 1904, 1912, 1914 and 1923.
