Description

  • porcelain, gilt bronze
  • height 13 in.; width 14 1/2 in.; depth 9 in.
  • 33 cm; 37 cm; 23 cm
mounted with serpent-form handles, decorated in gilt on one side with the crowned N Napoleon cypher, on the other with the Imperial eagle surmounted by three stars, the porcelain marked Mre Imple de Sèvres in overglaze iron red.

Condition

Overall good condition and presentation, 1 cover restored, the other with three hairlines to underside extending from the finial. Very fine surface scratches to porcelain commensurate with age. The mounts dull and dirty with some oxidation and pitting consistent with age and atmospheric condition. Both metal support plates to underside rusted, other areas of soiling overall.
