Catalogue Note

This table is copied after a center table attributed to Jean Pelletier made circa 1699 and now in the collection of Her Majesty the Queen at Windsor castle. Jean Pelletier and and his two sons, René and Thomas, were Huguenots who left Paris in the 1680s after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. Jean Pelletier is first recorded in England around 1681-1682.

A table de milieu of similar form was sold Sotheby's New York, 22nd October 2008, lot 104.
