Condition

This boldly carved console is generally in good restored order, there are some chips and losses to the later gilt surface. Including a chip to the central scrolled apron. There are some repaired recent chips to some details and these have exposed white gesso and flaking, however these will be easily fixed. There are areas of retouching to the gilding. It has strong new blocks for support to the reverse of the apron. The back rail which fixes to the wall is later, this is not visible to the naked eye. There are old fractures to the stretcher. Evidence of old worm. The marble is lovely. There are some old repaired cracks. There are some old chips and areas of filler.
