Condition

The painting sits on its original canvas, which is thick, unframed. The painting would benefit from a light cleaning. Several craquelures are visible on the surface, especially in the sky where they are thicker (visible in the catalogue). The composition does not seem to have been varnished : no repaint is visible under UV light, nor to the naked eye. The use of the compass is visible in the trees. Very good condition.
