Condition
The paintings sit on their original canvases, unframed. They would both benefit from a light cleaning. They do not seem to be varnished. No repaint is visible to the naked eye nor under UV light. The matter is quite thin, and the canvas is observable in some areas. A small hollow is visible in the upper right of the composition in a landscape format.
Both paintings are in perfect condition.

Réalisées en 1906, ces deux études de marronniers de l’avenue du Bois furent préparatoires au Portrait de Rita del Erido, que Bernard Boutet de Monvel exposa à la Société nationale des Beaux-Arts de 1907 et que conserve aujourd’hui l’Indianapolis Museum of Art.
