Condition
The painting which is on its original canvas would benefit from a light cleaning, and the canvas from a light stretching since it is a little bit loose. The white preparation under the thick matter is visible (characteristic of the artist's technique). The parinting does not seem to be varnished.
Under UV light, some brush strokes seem to fluoresce in the grass, but this is probably due to a pigment used by the artist and is not a repaint.
Perfect condition.

Catalogue Note

This painting was executed circa 1906, and reproduces a subject which was already treated by the artist in 1899 for a print (see lot 328). The colors have changed, and the influence of Symbolism, possibly also Fauvism are observable. Towing men and horses in Nemours are a recurrent theme for the artist (see lot 5).
