of rectangular form, the paneled top with raised straight paneled sides with long, shaped and beaded openings, the front with a pair of rectangular scrolling openwork panels centered an a shaped panel enclosing a writhing chilong amidst lingzhi, the front corners and mid-section surmounted with four seated lion finials and bundled stiff-leaf finials on the back corners, the front door panels pierced with confronting dragons, above a strongly shaped and beaded apron, all supported on short cabriole legs of square section, the interior with five drawers, with metal mounted quatrefoil hinges, knock plates and pulls

Condition

Sections of the case have been laminated and veneered. The top panel appears to have been replaced and it is possible that the central openwork panel has been added. The figural terminals have been cut down and re-stuck. There are other minor repairs and restoration as well as expected wear and consolidation.
