the canted cover, hinged to the rectangular case, opening to reveal a folding mirror stand comprised of a central openwork quatrefoil designed to receive the mirror knob, surrounded by openwork panels enclosing stylized flowers and lingzhi, above a pair of well-figured matched floating panel doors flush with the mitered, mortise and tenon frame construction, the interior with five drawers mounted with metal circular knock plates and pulls, the exterior with strap hinges, bail handles and a circular plate with cloud-form hasp and pulls at the front, all supported on short bracket feet joined by a shaped apron

Condition

It is possible that a section of the cover is added or replaced. The inner openwork panel of the mirror stand appears to have been replaced. Some of the drawers may be later replacements. The top half of the circular lockplate appears to be a later replacement, the hasp is broken in two and repaired and other metalwork may be replaced. There are other minor repairs and replacements.
