the single board top tongue and grooved into the inside edge of the cover, the side panels mitered and dovetailed and with beaded edge, repeated on the upper edge of the box, baitong mounts of ruyi form reinforcing the corners, straps mounted on the side edges, further metal straps forming  the rectangular hinges attaching the cover to the box, the front with a circular strike plate and ruyi-form hasp, the short sides set with bail handles

The box and cover is overall good condition with expected wear and possible consolidation.
