Catalogue Note

Born in 1943, Liu Shouben, a native of Beijing is a major figure in contemporary inside-painted snuff bottles in China. He took an apprenticeship under two of Ye Zhongsan's sons, Ye Xiaofeng and Ye Fengqi. Although classically trained in the style of the Ye family, he has developed his own unique style over the years.
