Description

  • porcelain
with a globular body rising to a tall waisted neck, supported on a splayed foot, decorated in gilt on a dark blue ground with a variety of ball-medallions, depicting either birds, animals, flowers or shou symbols, the shoulder encircled by a band of lotus and longevity symbols above a raised fillet, all between upright lappets encircling the foot and pendant ruyi at the rim, the base inscribed with an underglaze-blue six-character reign mark

Condition

The vase is generally in very good condition. There is some very minor rubbing in areas to the gilding, predominantly on the rim, but overall the gold enamel decoration has been particularly well preserved.
