of archaistic cong form, the rectangular body flanked by a pair of elephant-head handles suspending mock rings, covered overall with a lavender-blue glaze, the base with an underglaze-blue six-character reign mark

Condition

The vase is in overall good condition. There is a crackle in the glaze encircling the neck that developed at the luting line between the body and the neck. There is a minute nick to one of the upper corners and a tiny bruise in the glaze to one of the elephant-head handles. The actual colour is slightly paler when compared to the catalogue illustration.
