Description

  • stoneware and metal
the first decorated with two pairs of dragons confronting 'flaming pearls', the spout and handle mounted in gilt-bronze and joined together by a linked chain; the other carved on each side with a shou character within a yellow-slipped ground lobed panel, the cover pierced with floral branches and surmounted by a tree trunk finial

Condition

The two teapots are generally in good condition. There are a few expected small flakes or nibbles to the mouthrim and cover rim of both, more predominantly on the 'shou' teapot which also has a small minute chip to the tip of its spout and to one corner of the cover. The gilt-bronze mounts on the first teapot are in good condition.
