Description

with the globular body supported on a short foot, set with a short gently curved spout opposite a ear-shaped loop handle, the domed cover with a round finial, the base incised with a six-character inscription reading yanke qiewu liulian ('a good host knows when to stop'), followed by a studio mark Yanghe, the cover similarly inscribed with a four-character studio mark reading Yanghe shushi

Condition

The teapot with some minor nicks to the mouth rim and foot rim, as well to the rim of the spout. Two very faint firing lines near the handle. The cover with scattered chips to the rim and lip.
