A LARGE ‘JUN’ BOWL YUAN DYNASTY

Estimate
50,000 - 80,000 HKD
bidding is closed

Description

  • ceramic
well potted on a neatly cut splayed foot, applied with a thick light blue glaze transmuting to a mushroom tone at the rim, the glaze stopping short above the foot revealing an orange burnt stoneware body

Condition

The bowl is generally in good condition. There is an old glaze flake (approx. 0.7 by 0.4 cm) to the interior rim, with an associated radiant hairline in the glaze extending on the exterior of the rim and a further faint crackle in the glaze branching down towards the foot. The foot is neatly cut and the colour of the glaze is particularly attractive.
