solidly potted with a narrow groove encircling the exterior below the rim, covered overall with a lustrous black glaze suffused with iridescent silver markings, the glaze thinning at the rim and falling short of the foot to reveal the dark brown stoneware body

Condition

There are some old restorations to the mouth rim (showing on the illustration in the catalogue). There is a restored chip to the foot. The bowl also has some expected surface scratches, glaze gaps or expected firing flaws, including a 1.7 cm kiln grit that has been grounded above the foot, possibly original to the firing.
