the bowl with upright sides and a short foot, covered with a lustrous black glaze, thinning to a caramel-brown tone at the rim with russet streaks extending downwards; the jar with the ovoid body rising from a recessed base to a short flanged neck, covered with a mottled brownish-black glaze splashed in russet with abstract floral motifs

Condition

The bowl has a restuck shallow flake of approx. 0.5 cm to the mouthrim and several nicks to the unglazed foot. The mouthrim of the jar has been restored with overpaint. Both the bowl and the jar have some typical firing flaws and expected surface wear.
