the white-rimmed bowl with a splayed foot, covered overall in a lustrous black glaze with five russet splashes, save for the rim covered with a white slip band beneath a clear glaze; the dish with a shallow countersunk base, applied with a black glaze and a white slip to the rim; the russet-splashed bowl with a flared rim, covered in a black glaze with russet streaks to the interior radiating from the centre, Japanese wood boxes

Condition

Dish: In overall good condition. Black-glazed bowl: There are firing crackles with some associated losses to the white slip band and kiln flakes to the footring. Russet-splashed bowl: There is a retouched flake measuring approx. 1 cm to the rim. There are also typical firing imperfections and light surface scratches but the bowl is otherwise in overall good condition.
